Morné Marx
Morné Marx started out in the hair industry. Driven by demand, he upskilled himself by adding the full spectrum of makeup skills to his offering — a move that changed everything and opened doors into television, film and advertising.
In 2018 he acquired the Kohl Makeup Academy Cape Town franchise, established since 2010, where the standards are continuously kept current with what is on trend while always grounding students in the fundamentals. Morné remains deeply active in training, finding real joy in teaching and upskilling others.
Over the years he noticed a clear pattern. Students who diversified into lashes, nails, waxing and more were flourishing and building successful enterprises, while their single-skilled peers were left behind. Upskill Lab was born from that insight.
